It could be you are afraid of having to answer a question that you don't know the answer to. I have been a Christian for decades and know almost all the Bible stories and I get nervous sometimes too. The bible says study to show yourself to be a good workman by rightly handling the word of truth. So, my suggestion is to find a closer church and study your bible. pray every time you have that kind of discussion that God would talk through you. Hope this helps.

Some people (me) cannot read the Bible once and understand what it says. The more you read the Bible the more you understand what it says.
I know it is hard for you to feel comfortable in church when you must travel so far and cannot go on a regular basis.
Why don't you talk to your parents and ask if there is another church you could attend that is close to your home? Best Wishes to you.

You need to read the Bible daily. Start in the New Testament. You need to grow as a Christian or you will go backwards. Try to find a church that is closer so you can get there regularly.
The reason for feeling nervous may be because you know in your heart that things are not right between you and God. Confess any known sins and you will feel better.

No, I understood completely. Conflict over religion is a big problem for a lot of people, and most try to avoid it.

I used to feel the same way when I got "outted" over my beliefs- but time, expeerince and confidence - and a somewhat "I could care less what you think" attitude has stopped that feeling for me.

But I still get it in other conflict situations - and for some, it can even be debilitating.

You seem to have answered your own question. When the topic of God comes up you get nervous and you admit to not being faithful. Seems God is prompting you to a more faithful life so that instead of a fearfulness before God, you might know the love and peace of God. He reveals Himself in His Word and our relationship to Him needs to be one of worship so you need to read, and to go with His people to worship Him or you don't really know Him.

Dear Friend,

God created us in His image to have a personal relationship with Him. Jesus Christ came into this world so that when we accept Him as Lord and Savior, He comes into our lives and has a "real" personal relationship with Him (our Creator). He died on the cross in our place. He paid a debt...we could not pay. We are all born into sin because of Adam and Eve's disobedience to God. We all have a choice in life, to either accept the only one who died a horrible death for our sins, Jesus Christ; or reject Him. Our choice.

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. Psalm 86:5

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

The Bible is God's "love letter" to mankind. If you want to get to know your loving Heavenly Father... Read His Word. It is best to read early in the morning before you start your day. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His spiritual truth to you. He will be with you every step of the way.

God has a plan for your life.
11" For I know the plans I have for you (insert your name)," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope hope and a future.
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13

You may want to start reading the Word of God (the Bible), in the Book of John (New Testament).

Sincerely in Christ Jesus,

lostnsavd...

There is so much hostility in the religion section on here. Maybe you are trying to avoid face to face hostility with people that disagree.

There is possibly a secret sin you don't want God to find out about !!! He knows and maybe He wants to restore fellowship with you and you haven't confessed it yet !!!
