If someone is truly possessed and totally controlled by a demon, which is VERY rare, you can request an exorcism from a validly ordained Catholic priest.

Otherwise, we all fight spiritual battles like addiction every day and the weapons are the same:

1. Prayer
2. Penance and Fasting
3. Humility
4. Support and help from our fellow man

ok, many different responses from people but it all means nothing unless its founded on the bible.
Only by the authority of the name of Jesus spoken from the mouth of any born again belever can a demonic spirit be over powered, yes and fasting and prayer are crucial conterparts, although fasting is not always required it is the most potent combination when utelized.

Only by proclaing the name of Jesus and his authority will a demon be forced to submit, also quoting the blood of the lamb and the power of jesus' name can help. But again if any person tries this and is not a commited born again faith filled Jesus follower they are either a: goning to get zero response, or b: get thrased and afflicted themselves in some spiritual of physical way by the spirit/s.

Then that emtpty place the spirit leaves must be replace with the presance of the Holy Spirit, or the demon can return with 7 others and make things worse (its in the new testament)

Speak to a faith filled jesus beleiving Christian you trust

Rev Rexroad here, First of all if the person is a Christian ( Accepted the Mind of Christ ) they can't be possessed. They however can be oppressed. If that is the case it's because they have let Satan in and commitment to God about the abuse will take care of that. That means let God be your light and live by his word. If the person isn't saved, there is bigger issues and you won't kick demonic spirits out.

Binding and loosing demons is spiritual warfare. You need to be very strong in the Lord, and versed in the Word? Are you those things?
People can be freed from the demons of addiction. Please email me, so that we can talk a bit more, if you like. You need to read Ephesians chap 6 and Matt. 16:18
Also study the man with the legiion of demons.

I don't know much about demonic spirits and such, but many people have experienced physical and spiritual healing from receiving the sacrament of the anointing of the sick, which is one of the sacraments of the Catholic Church. It is administered by a priest.

If the suffering person is a Catholic, he or she should ask the pastor of their local Catholic Church. You and they can read more about this at http://www.catholic.com/library/Anointing_of_the_Sick.asp

May God bless you and may He bless and heal your friend.

Get out of him O Devil, you have no buisness with the living to mislead them, only the dead that you've mislead, may the Lord rebuke you O Devil, By the name of the father, son and holy ghost, leave him.

I suppose you could refer to the 'Goetia vel Clavicula Salomonis Regis,' but you would have to know the name of the demon before you could command it, and doing that sort of work takes years of study and rigorous self-discipline.

It's much easier to just help the person get enrolled into a good drug rehabilitation program.

You ever hear of M. Scott Peck? He wrote Glimpses of the Devil. It's really an odd book.

Well, the leaders of religion used to arrest women they thought were witches, torture them into confessing, and burn them at the stake.

Then scientists found that ergot poisoning from spoiled rye bread was causing the symptoms.

The 12 step programs worked for me... (so far, and hopefully forever).

You can believe in demons and angels or be completely atheist and scientific about it... either way, the 12 steps can apply.

But the person must be willing to invest some time in their own recovery or nothing will work.... that's a guarantee.
