I would say there are no gadgets that can be microwaved to find the temperature of a food- because the gadget itself would become hotter and give you an incorrect reading. Another factor is that the "micro waves" being lazered around your microwave are random- so some parts of the food will be completely different in temperature than others. My recommendation is to use a normal food thermometer, remove the food from the microwave and measure the temp in a minimum of 3 places. Take the average temperature as a measure of doneness.

Some models of microwaves come with a thermometer you stick inside the food while it cooks. That thermometer is made for the microwave - plugs in. Don't know what models have that but I'm sure there are a number of them.

Nothing that you can leave in there as thermometors have mercury and metal which will explode. You can stick a meat therm into the food to check the temp when you open the door though.

why would you need to? open the door and use a regular food thermometer?
