I don't consider myslef a good muslim.
1) I say Shahada very often.
2) I pray but I skip prayers most of the time.
3) I don't fast Ramadan due to illness
4) I have never been to hajj. I am still young, don't have enough money, and don't think I am qualified for that.
5) I don't pay zakat (charity) because I don't work but I once helped my poor uncle by sending him money I borrowed from the bank and when I work I will pay the money back to the bank.

I don't believe in Hijab. I don't believe in banning music. I don't believe in banning dog keeping and I believe abortion should be allowed.

1) Shahada - Said it almost 3 months ago, and happy ever since! The shahada has so much meaning in it...the first part testifies that there is NO God but THE one true God...and then the second part confirms that you will try to follow God's law, because you accept Muhammad as a messenger of God...once you do that, you cant deny the message! lol....the shahada is the most beautiful sounding thing in the world to me =)

2) Salah - I LOVE PRAYER! Even if my prayer only takes me five minutes or something, it is five minutes in front of GOD, where i brush away all distraction of the day and fully submit myself. It helps to remind me of my duties as a muslim. I pray 5 times a day, (and trying to learn witr prayer now) and would never give up doing so for anything. I am so serious, whenever i am having a bad day...salah swoops in and saves me =D

3) Sawm - I converted (or reverted, w/e, the word doesnt matter) on the 5th day of Ramadan, so Ramadan holds a special place in my heart...lol...i fasted the whole month (except when i had my period, of course), and i made up for the days that i missed because of my period....i also did the fast during shawwal =D Makes you feel so much closer to God, Alhamdullilah for Ramadan!!!!

4) Zakat - No, i dont give zakat...im not sure if im even old enough....and i dont know how zakat works O_o....i also dont have any money of my own, lmao...inshallah when i am grown i will give zakat =)

5) Hajj - No, havent gone on hajj yet....I hope to do that with my husband one day, inshallah =) altho im scared of being trampled or sumthing =/ It's supposed to be wonderful tho....(not being trampled, lol...i mean hajj in general)

The five pillars are extremely important, but you must always remember that the pillars are just plain pillars until you put a building around them!! They are nothing without the rest of the religion, too =)
haha i see many ppl are commenting on hijab....i wear hijab, even though my family doesn particularly love that...i love it though, its a constant reminder of who i am and what my duty is =)

1) Shadhah : the declaration that Allah is the Only God & Prophet Muhammad SAW is the Messenger of Allah. Yes I do that everyday.
2) Salat/prayer yes I pray 5 times a day unless I am on my period.
3) Zakat/charity Yes I give that.
4) Saum/Fasting yes I do that unless I am on my period or sick, but I must make up the days that I miss.
5) Hajj no I have not; but if God wills when I have the ability I will.
I cover fully Hijab and Niqab(veil) I read Qur'an & Hadith.
I am a Salafi which means that I follow the Qur'an, Sunnah, & I go by the understanding of the companions of the Prophet SAW & by the understand of the 3 generations after them. May Allah be pleased with all of them.
My parents & my siblings including me are the only ppl in my family who are Muslim. I Believe in commanding the good & forbidding the evil. Believe in doing what is Halal/Permissable in Islam & staying away from what is Haram/impermissable. I believe in Afterlife & Paradise & the Hellfire.

Hope I helped.

As a Muslim of course i practice the five pillars.

1. Declaration of faith (yes, done that)
2. Pray 5 times a day (yes, do that)
3. Fast in the month of Ramadan (yes, do that)
4. Pay Zatak (yes, do that)
5. Pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in ones life time if and when one can afford it. (still to do that one, Insha Allah)

My parents are not Muslims but are more than supportive of me being one. Any more questions feel free to ask.

5 pillars of islam:
1, shahadah or declaration of oneness of God, this is not just a belief in islam, bc whether one accepts it or not, God is always there.Therefore, the declaration is in arabic "ash shadu an la ilaha il allah, wa ash shadu anna mohammad ar rasulluallah" (i swear there is no god but God, and i swear that mohammad is a prophet of God}
2.salah (prayers)- to perform the 5 x/day obligatory prayers which should be done in the prescribed way of different body posture. I do bc God said that if only we knew what the benefits of performing prayer, one would even have to crawl just to get to that area.
3.saum (fasting )- a 30 days(at the most, sometimes just 28 or 29)not at night obligatory fasting during the month of ramadhan for the physically and mentally abled. Been doing it since embracing islam and have benefits so numerous to list.
4. Zakat (obligatory alms giving) consists of 2.5 % of your net earnings, this is after you've paid off all necessary expenses and loans that is to be given to the very poor. or to workers/expenses for the cause of God.
5. hajj (performance of pilgrimage to mecca) obligatory to those who can afford. I can't, so i haven't been there. Before, i have no intention to go as why would it be only to mecca. But realizing that it is a commandment of God, who am i to defy His order. And the benefit of it is you meet brothers of differernt nationality, helping one another for the cause of God

you can also check on the many websites,

1) Declaration of Faith: yes done that and still believe it
2) Prayer: I have times where I pray 5 times a day and feel good about it, but I get lazy most of the time and skip them (and i REALLY feel guilty about it) but I should re-start
3) Donating: Im young and dont make any real money so its not necessary but I donate whatI can
4)Fasting: Every day (except when on the cycle because you're not allowed to) In Ramadan
5)Hajj: I am going next week hopefully!! excited, first time for Hajj but I have been before on Umrah (a visit to the holy city)

I DEFINITELY believe in hijab because there is so much genuine backup to why we should wear it, but i personally dont. I accept that I should, but I'm not a strong enough person. I am hoping to start soon, although I Know i am getting sins for NOT wearing it. Modesty is a big thing in Islam, and your body and beauty is made only for one person. Covering yourself and lowering your gaze cuts off the whole domino effect to adultery.. it makes sense if you think about it. anyway yeah im not the best muslim, not even close, but im trying.
