In our office we use the same main door to get into our places of biz and my neighbor has put a plate of fresh fruits and vegs and a glass of water on the floor in the hallway.I ask her if it was hers and she said yes and leave it there. Its been there 3 days so far.She is of asian decent .I find it strange to have patients walk past this plate to go in my office.I dont want a fight so what do u think she is doing?

She is observing a Buddhist offering. (Notice- is it all vegetarian? Probably with an odd number of items?) Either in honor of someone recently died or to bless (and prosper) her business.

My experience is with Buddhist/Taoist business practice in Taiwan, when during the lunar ghost month (late summer), business put offering tables on the sidewalk outside of their shop or office. (But they included Scotch, potato chips, and candy bars) Perhaps the common doorway is the closest she can place it to the street.

BUT
She can adapt even further and not inconvenience or offend you or your patients. Keep it IN her rooms of the facility
AND
"ask her" sounds like a kind and practical step to me. That was good advice, I think.

She is making foolishness on her belief. That is not a food offering. It is against etiquette and right conduct in an office.

Why don't you try asking her? I've heard that approach works wonders.

If you're not willing to do so (too shy, perhaps) I do hope that someone here can help you.
