Does my pie have to be refridgerated after baking or can I leave it on the counter with it being covered with either foil or plastic wrap. The only thing that is in it that came from the fridge was butter. No eggs, no milk, or anything of that nature. Thanks ahead of time.

Good. I make a great Crunchy Caramel Apple Pie, and my husband loves it, and it is just as easy to make 2 as it is to make one. Instead of a normal crust with slits on the top, my recipe call for something different. Instead it is more like a crumb cake or cobbler topping, with caramel squares melted into the apple filling. Here is a recipe if you would like to try it. Just double it to make 2 pies.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup quick oats
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 tbs all-purpose flour
- 1tsp ground cinnamon
- 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples.
- pkg of caramel squares
Directions:
Crumb Topping:
- stir together brown sugar, flour, and oats. With a pastry blender cut in butter until the topping mixture resembles crumbs.
Pie Filling:
- In large pan stir together apples, salt, sugar, cinnamon, flour, and caramel squares. Heat until apples are soft. Dump into pie crust. Bake on 375* for about 25 to 30 minutes.
