talk to your children about the experiences or do you keep that hidden?

I did and I'm not very proud of it. I'm very against any drug use even marijuana. I have a daughter, she is only 21 months old. But when she is older I think I might tell her why I did and what I took. I want to be open with her and make sure she know the harm and bad side from some one that has done it. I wouldn't come out and say"Oh by the way I did drugs when I was younger" It will have to be a an appropriate time and age. Like if I suspect she is or thinking about it. Or if she asks me.

I did do drugs in my younger days
and I do tell my children the truth,
when apropriate. I just didn't go telling my kids all the things
I did in my youth. If there was a time that an experience
needed to be talked about it was, and is. I feel the things I try to keep hidden sonmehow have a way of coming to light anyway so it's better to bring those things to light anyway. But only if the situation allows for it. Great question Dragon!!!

My daughter is only 4, I have talked to her a little bit about drugs and drinking. When she's older I plan to be honest with her about my addiction, and I pray she will choose a better lifestyle than that for herself. Unfortunately, most teens (and younger) experiment with drugs and/or alcohol. But I would never hide such an important part of my past from her.

It should only be brought up if you see them going in the same direction. Especially nowadays with all of these psychotropic drugs out these days. Otherwise, there's no reason to bring it up!

if i had kids, i would keep it hidden. Statistics show that if a child knows that her parents do, or did drugs, than chances are that they will to. And if they did find out, than you would want to be sure that you realize what you did was wronge, and that in your day, nobody knew it was bad, blah blah blah.

I have never done drugs when I was younger,but she got with the bf who does it and I have had problems with him and his family and he is just learning now...i hope...=-0

i never did drugs,cause i just could never put dangerous chemicals in my body!but i have seen the results of people i have known who have taken them,and they just wasted their life away!
