I'm in my senior year in high school and I'm taking one class at the community college. I want to get my GED so I can just go to the community college in Spring and hopefully transfer sooner. I only have 4 classes in high school and I basically have no reason to stay for another 7 months. How can I get the GED? How much is it and where do I take the test? I've passed Algebra 2 and I'm getting an A in Senior literature so hopefully I'll pass it. Please help?

My counselor obviously doesn't want me to do it because she wants to get payed more. She told me she loves me and doesn't want me to leave. I want to do it anyway.

I'd recommend staying in high school at least until you pass some harder classes. I got my G.E.D and I had a really difficult time passing pretty simple classes because i never took them in high school and i needed them to graduate college. I did get my G.E.D at http://www.my-ged.com/alternatives_to_a_ged.html I hope this helps and please take some thought into my advice. Good Luck with whatever you end up choosing

As a senior in high school there must be someone who can answer the question for you. GED usually applys to one who has dropped out of school and takes a comprehensive exam to earn the high school diploma. Many times the recipient has found that education is vital to his success and did GED to qualify for college. See what the counselor advises. Then plot your course.
