I would sit down and tell her, you are not going to be happy until you do, and it will stress you out....and also MAKE sure that you really want to go into that field, but even if you are not sure, sit down with her and talk to her about it....you might even want to give the marine biologist thing a try before you totally throw it out.

I think you need to tell her. If she scares you, try it when she's in a good mood, and just say it quickly when she's doing something else, like washing the dishes or whatever she might do around the house. Like this: "Mom, I want to be an actor or singer, not a marine biologist." And, then act like it's nothing. I think I saw that in a movie. And, really, if you make into a big deal, it will just be a bigger deal. Relax.

When she brings up the subject of this program again, that is when you divert her.Tell her you have given it a lot of thought, and that since you are struggling at school,it might be better to put it off. Then tell her you are experiencing educational burn out,and would like to do something a little more interesting than an educational program. That is when you suggest you get a more rounded curriculum by adding a fine arts after school program such as singing lessons or acting lessons. It would also help if you actually find a place in your area that offers these programs at a lower cost before you mention it to your mom.She will have a harder time saying no if you have already done your research.

The entertainment industry is not friendly or stable. Make sure you have talent and display it before you comfront her with such a change... you don't want to talk to her about it and then find out you aren't a natural talent. That would be the worst.

Honey,
If you want to go into show business, it's your
funeral. But better study something to do as your
"day job" because odds are about 300/1 that you
will need one.
Get those grades up.

it all depends how old you are.
If you are younge,(new in high skool, middle skool, elem) than your mother should know that you will change your mind alot between now and te time you graduate high school. If you are around your final year, than you should tell her that you have changed your mind. She should understand, because it is your future after all, and your mother wants you to be happy.
Good Luck!
