I have to assume you are feeding it appropriate kitten replacement formula and a solid gruel, depending on how old the kitten is. But consider this. The kitten had company (siblings), and a mother who comforted it. Now, neither of those are around, and in its very short life it is alone. So it will cry. The kitten will probably want to climb out; just be sure it cannot get lost or into a dangerous hiding spot.
Handling the kitten will get it used to human contact, and make it a very special kitten.
Here is a tip from a fostering site, and I am also giving the link:
Emotional and physical closeness to you is as important to a kitten as food and warmth. Pet the kitten often, letting it snuggle. You'll be surprised how this early cuddle activity will stay a basic instinct as the cat grows into an adult. We've found that hand-raised kittens have a much deeper bond to their owners and are highly loyal, intelligent, and affectionate.

Maybe she is older than you think and need MORe to eat. Try offering her some good canned food thinned with a little warm water or kitten milk. If she can lap it or eat it, then she is old enough to eat on her own and probably start using a litter box.
Very young (newborn) kittens sleep most of the time. If they are crying it means something is wrong.

well I am not very sure about that but I've seen it worked with kitties and puppies before. Newborn cats (same as dogs) connect the feeling of security with smell. Try placing in its basket a towel or a pillow case that you have used or slept on it. It will have your smell and the kitten will feel close to you.

well are you going to keep the kitten, if so then you should just keep doing what your doing she could be missing her mom or other things she had also maybe she is just not used to the new environment give her time, and give her a lot of attention like play and pet her a ton.

When I found my kitten (as a newborn) it did nothing but cry...he still does sometimes. I guess some cats/kitten are more vocal. It could taper down as he get older though.

You need to get baby formula at your pet store and so the baby won't get constipated you need to stimulate it(rub its butt with a cloth that is what the mother would do). Or find your local shelter and bring it to them.
