Ok well they don't 'see' it as racisim
- but it is BREEDISM
my dogs - he HATES Dalimatians he has never had a negitive encounter or experience it just seems He hates dalmatians & they hate him equally back - he can see one from 30 feet away & he & the other dog both goes balistic at each other
also the same with Boxers. He is TOTALLY fine with all other dog breeds though - so explain that one...
He has been exposed to all types of dog breeds large & small & genders it is not an agression thing - its visually once he sees one.
and I can see the dog taking on the owners 'feelings' of being stressed , scared etc but racist feelings is going a bit far --

If the dog isn't used to being around people of other you and people like you (for example, not being around people of other races, people who use a walker or cane, people in a wheelchair) It's not that the dog is racist, the just aren't used to different people. The best way to help the dog get over this is slowly introduce the dog to people of other races, and reward them for good behavior. If the dog will allow, have the other person give the dog treats. It is very important to do this so that your dog is properly socialized and doesn't have bias'

Dogs don't have that human trait -- they learn from their human and express their humans' biases. No, the only 'racists' are people - not dogs. Dogs can be fearful of things they are unfamiliar with and if their human feeds into that fear by themselves being fearful (which is what most discrimination and bigotry is based in) then you often see responses that can be misinterpreted by people who know very little about canines as a bias... but that is a totally human characteristic.

Dogs are not racist, but if they see a person with an appearance they haven't seen before, it can be alarming that it's something "different". It is not racism, it is just the dog hasn't been socialized around people with different skin colors.

If a dog has never seen someone wearing a large hat, or someone that has facial hair, the dog may give the same type of reaction when it encounters people with those features as well.

It's lack of socialization experiences. NOT racism.

Dogs aren't born racist. If they see their owner disrespecting somebody they don't like because of their race by yelling. They are going to be mean too. They take after their owner.

You know.. I don't see racism at all in my dogs.. Maybe Dobermans are different, but they don't seem to see colour or anything like that.. They like people, and don't discriminate based on background.. They are more likely to judge people based on their intentions, the type of person they are, rather than their background or colour.

Dogs can not discriminates because they do not have the mental abilities to like or dislike one particular race because of color. They can see what their owners do and mimic it, but that is all.
