For some people, dark circles are caused by subtle inflammation (such as from allergies you may not even know you have). If this is the case for you, you will find that dabbing a bit of zinc oxide (often the main ingredient found in diaper rash ointment) underneath your eyes before going to bed will help greatly. It works wonders for me. If your darkness is hereditary, maybe a dermatologist will be able to help.

ive just been to a dermo about same thing. he has given me a hydroquinoine? cream that stops the melanine from working under the skin. it gradually slows it down. nothing in the shops works - the one i bought is called Clear Skin 2%. its not expensive but you have to use it every night as it is effective for 24 hours. ive been using it for 3 weeks and im starting to see a change. its a condition called "melasma". so dont waste any more money - go and see you doctor about getting some of this type of cream.

i don't know what that person is talking about.
my sister had dark circles around her eyes for years no matter how much sleep she got. what has worked for most of the people that come to me with this problem is taking a multivitamin daily, drinking lots of waster (peppermint tea helps too) and the best product that i have used is clinique's "all about the eyes" cream.
i hope this helps. feel free to contact me if you need anymore info.
the bags and dark circles can be caused by excess fluid. when you wake up massage tiny circles with your finger towards your nose.

Dark circles can treated with regular and gentle care.Cover your eyes with cotton soaked in luke warm milk for 15 minutes everyday to remove the dark circles around your eyes or dip cotton pads into freshly extracted mint juice, flatten them and place them on closed eyelids for 10 to 15 minutes. Check out http://useinfo-darkcircles.blogspot.com/ for more info.

I think it's a sign that you're not drinking enough water - but I have a friend who always has them, despite carrying a bottle of water with her. She says it's genetic and uses a bit of concealer cream to hide it. You can buy it for men too.
Or for a quick fix, try a dab of Preparation H.

If you're refering to the dark circles you get under your eyes from lack of sleep, you can rub some egg whites on them which will dry the skin and stretch it out getting rid of the darkness.
