The interview was last Weds, right before Thanksgiving. They told me they would call me sometime this week to let me know. I got so caught up with the holiday and did not send a thank you card, which I know I should have done. Is it too late to send this now? It would probably get there in 1 day since I live in the same town. I have his email address as well, should I do this instead or continue with the note?

Although it's nice to send a thank-you after an interview, it's become so cheesey, phony, and cliche'd that it's not super-necessary.

Besides, if you DO have the job, they won't pass you by JUST because you didn't send a thank-you

and if you DIDN'T get the job, sending a thank you won't improve that situation

Send it now, and it seems awkward and phony, rather than genuine.

Send a note right away. Keep it short and to the point. No one likes to read a long drawn out thank you letter. Just make sure you mention the position, time of interview, people that interviewed you and no more than two of your strongest skills that would fit perfectly for the position you were interviewing. One paragraph only. Good luck

It's not too late. If I was the potential employer I would understand the holiday distraction. As the other poster stated, do both.

Send it, but would have been better to send it sooner. I'd send it on paper through the mail, but email isn't awful.

it truly isn't any longer too late. even if, i do not trust a hand-written thanks "be conscious" is the pro thanks to flow. you are able to be typing a short letter in a organization format type. you'll look a lot extra professional. you'll locate samples of interview thankyous on line.

continue with the note, because a lot of times they would just delete it anyway thinking that it's junk mail, because I'm quite sure they usually know all their email clients.
