I think it's the latter.

Yeah... I think it's the latter too.

My opinion about fundamentalists is that they make a very basic human mistake of confusing their mental images of God with the real God. When a person does that, it seems to me that it leads to a watered-down, easy-to-swallow Christianity that isn't anything like what Jesus asked us to do: Love one another and God.

I think that most genuinly believe that it is the way they and everyone else should live. They then get so empassioned and excited about this "truth" they have discovered they want to share it with everybody, can't understand why people don't believe just the way that they do, then proceed to ram their dogma down another person's throat even though this is not the way Jesus demonstrated to us that we should minister.

I am of the oppinion that most of them are devout but misguided and of course there will always be the one's you mentioned who only seek to justify themselves rather than truly be concerned about another person. Jesus warned us about this practice as well when he said "beware the leven of the pharasees"..

What do you mean close mindedness? I go to a Bible Believing Church and do not consider myself close minded at all. Aren't you displaying closed mindedness by asking a question that generalizes every one of a particular group

The only way to God is Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

As a fundementalist. My mind is firmly closed on the truth of the bible....why allow something in that is not truth.

My vote is for the latter. They seem to think that God was made in their image.
