I used to eat ketchup on my baked potatoes, does that count!? i think it has something to do with textures, the crunchy of the fry with the gloppy ketchup. Its not as much fun when you have gloppy and gloppy.

mashed potatoes haven't been cooked like french fries [some people cook the potatoes some dont] and french fries has some additives to it which changes it.
But i do put ketchup on my mashed potatoes and at times it tastes like french fries lol :]

yeah but one is deep fried in a vat of greasy oil. try frying mashed potatoes that might work.
