The simple answer is to restore what was lost in the Garden of Eden--God's Kingdom on this planet, with power and dominion given to mankind.
Christ came to redeem us and return to us what was first given to us by God the Father.
Blessings.

I believe that he came to earth because without his appearance, we wouldn't believe in god or heaven and we wouldn't find a reason to be good because when death came that was just the end. He came to help those who were good, and give us a reason to not fear death and tell us that we will be brought to a place far more great than anyone could imagine. He came to let us know that this place we live in with drugs and violence, isn't hell, and there are open arms waiting for us when we pass on.

To seek and to save the lost. To offer his life as a ransom for many. To fulfill the law and the prophets. To call sinners to repentance.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

Matthew 20:28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Luke 5:31 And Jesus answered them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."

It is written in John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Jesus is God's Son. Jesus came to the earth to die on the cross and to rise from the dead three days later. If you believe that Jesus died on the cross, rose from the dead, and that He is God's Son, Jesus' blood will wash you from your sins and you will be given the gift of eternal life.

If you want to know more read the book of John in the Bible.

His dad sent him out to pick up some kebabs. He envisioned this being a 20 minute round trip.

Unfortunately, it lasted just over thirty years and ended up with Jesus being nailed to a bit of wood.

And the Kebabs had gone cold by the time he got back up to heaven, too.

His biological parents screwed (whether or not that included Joseph). Actually, all the stuff in the Bible written about Jesus was written decades after his death. Outside the Bible, there's really nothing to indicate he existed at all.
