my girlsgrandmother took over custody of our daughter while i was going through some legaal troubles but now she wants to adopt her... her reasoning is because she wants her to be near family but i know that to be false she underminded me being the father before my daughter was born and shes sick in the head i mean i now have a son also and a comment she made was that it loked like her son...?he's white shes not blood to me or her daughter i just felt it was her trying to attach herself to my family...what do you think

Sounds like the grandmother is a very needy and manipulative person. Yes, she can adopt the kid if there is nothing hindering that process. You have to take the steps to hinder that process.

On the other hand, the law tends to favor the child's actual parents keeping their kid. You may have to prove that you are capable of supporting the kid. I would suggest talking to the family courts about getting custody back.

You may have to get an attorney.

I think you should be thanking her for stepping up when you apparently were not able to do so rather than knocking her.

Perhaps she can do better for the child than you can and this is her thinking.
