Unfortunately, my experience has been that they are hateful, angry, close-minded, and immature. Those are the ones who have directly emailed me.
They do not like it if you point out that their theories are full of holes and you back it up with proof. They get ignorant and start lashing out with name calling and the ultimate "you're going to hell" statement.
They know a few things they've been told to say but they have no depth to their understanding. So any detailed questioning frustrates them and causes a tantrum.
Then...they block you!

There are two main definitions to Bible-fundamentalism. The first is a broad definition regarding the basic tenants of the faith; i.e. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, rose on the third day, there is a heaven, there is a hell, etc. The second definition refers to a niche in Christianity that have strict dress codes, use King James Version only, and a bunch of other man-made rules. Is it the second definition that you are referring to? If it is the first definition, I would disagree, if it is the second definition, I would have to agree with you.

Does it encourage that, or do close-minded and high-opinionated people tend to embrace Bible-fundamentalism?

I think it encourages them to be completely dysfunctional people. Everything is a sin and all christians are sinners. They have to constantly confess to things they do everyday. It's no wonder so many people are in therapy.

They're judgemental, hypocritical and self righteous.
So absorbed in their bible that they remain ignorant to obvious facts.
Even when these facts are staring them right in the face.

I think that if one is gullible enough to believe in the bible, they were already closed minded to begin with, but religion allows them to join in mass and have other closed minded people pat them on the back for it.

I think it encourages people to be all that they can be and all that God made them to be. Whereas some other beliefs encourage people to follow society and do what society thinks in right. Honestly, I think that Christianity encourages individualism and I love that. I'm not saying that all CHRISTIANS do so, but Christianity itself does.

I agree. It discourages thought and curiosity. Basically, opiate for the masses.
