My girl is a pit mix, 55 pounds, and healthy.

I'm not 100% sure she ate it, as I never heard the pill drop and hit the floor but I can't find it on the counter or on the floor, or anywhere else! She was standing near when I lost the thing, so aside from watching her like a hawk to get her outside if/when it kicks in, is there anything else I can do?

I am searching the Internet for suggestions, but in the meantime, thought I'd pose the question here...

Thanks!

Thanks all - I called Emergency Vet Clinic and at 5 mg with her weight and health, the laxative isn't toxic.

Keeping her outside isn't an option so I'll have to be hyper-vigilant about getting her outside quickly.

I would strongly recommend that you contact your veterinarians office for their advice. Good Luck.

If it was just one, probably won't hurt her, other than make her go. I would suggest keeping her in the kitchen just in case she can't make it out doors. Worse case scenario, I'm sure would be she'll have a case of diarrhea. I would say put her outside til it passes, but I'm sure you'll want to keep an eye on her.

Stock up on deodorizer, heavy duty cleaner and a case of paper towels!

Feed her nothing but canned pumpkin until the pill has worked out of her system. Do let her drink water but no food, just the pumpkin.
