yes, the mechanics of both exercises are very similar. the push up only utilizes 60% of the total bodyweight. so if you are benching more than 60% of your body weight push ups would be useless for increasing strength in your case. performing them would only be helpful for endurance and general conditioning of the shoulder girdle.

Yes, doing either of these will strengthen your biceps, and could also help with your pecs and core muscles depending on how wide you plant your hands, which means doing push ups will help raise bench press and vice versa

yea actually my indoor track coach and i were talking cause i cant do push ups and the bench press is part of daily workout in our school weight room and he told me that not only will using more wieght help you do push ups itll also make you stronger witch will help with other exercises such as pull ups sit ups ect

Yes it will help, but push ups are designed for endurance (mitochondria in your muscles respond differently in each). Still, after a chest weight work out, I do dips and pushups with someone pushing on my back - MAKE IT BURN
