Is it true the population of Mormon businessmen and multi-level marketing companies have great overlap? If so, is there a reason why?

I asked because I've personally known only about 5 Mormons, all have "a business" in it.

here's a page that talks about it

No connection. This is about as valid as the "claim" that the Mormon Church owns Coca Cola! :)

Every religion has businessmen in MLM, Protestants have Amway and other MLM businesses. MLM sell mostly their products with family members and LDS are very Family oriented.

I think "daisykristina" hit the nail on the head.

It has more to do with Utah having a MLM friendly business enviroment than anything to do with church doctrine.

Though.....it is much easier to rip people off if they are religious and they think that you are a "good Christian."

Well, yes, but that's incidental to the fact that many LDS people live in Utah, and Utah happens to have to have laws which are very friendly to MLM's which other states do not have.

It's all a legal matter, and really has no relation to LDS doctrine.

What are you talking about? I am LDS (Mormon) and don't even know what you mean by multi-level marketing companies.

Is there a connection between MLM and Mormon Pat Robertson? Absolutely.

Think protein power. Think royal jelly.

Is there a connection between hormone creme and Mormon Daystar Texas Christian TV?

Think hormone creme for women and for men.
