There is nothing wrong with looking around?
It's like the old saying "my house is for sale, for the right price." (it's always for sale) LOL

Yes, there is a cure.
1) Start thinking what kind of job would you LIKE
2) See where you're standing and what is keeping you away from this job
3) Find a way to get over what's keeping you from your dream job
4) Work the job !

What's the harm in looking?
As long as you are working a job while you look, you should be okay.
The probable cure (assuming job searching is a disorder) is to find a job that is compatible with your skills, interest, and desired income...then closing the book on the search.

Yes, it sounds like you are doing it to please your family or for somebody else's approval, like society or your wife. Perhaps you are really an artist or welder or gardener, go with that.
