it seems your father may be one of those overprotective types, and perhaps he thinks he has good reason?

i know that most kids spend the night with their friends and wear shorts outside of home... but maybe because of your father's own, past experiences, he's scared you will be hurt or victimized in some way...

would your father allow a friend or two to spend the night with YOU? Maybe that is an alternative/solution to the problem?

i hope it works out.. i know how frustrating this is... take care.

As a single working mother of four children, my oldest being 16. First of all, you must obey your parents (like in the ten commandments) no doubt about that. It seems you're so focused & upset on the answer "no", its harder to accept the fact & move on. I'm sure its for your own well being. Later when you're mature enough & understand more without putting up a fight, you can try voicing your opinions to your dad & work together and compromise.

Start acting more mature and responsible for your actions.By the sounds of your whining maybe he knows that your not mature enough to have these privileges.

you have to prove to him that you are resposible.
if he doesnt allow you to do things, take it as 'he is doing this for my saftey' more than 'hes doing this to ruin my life'.
eventually he will see your growing up and when he does then he will start to let you do teenager things.
trust me.....
