Since 90% of people who have herpes have either no symptoms or symptoms so mild they dont know that they have it, it is a possibility that you have herpes even if you have never had symptoms.
One in four women have genital herpes, and one in five men. Half of genital herpes is caused by the virus hsv-2, and half by hsv-1.
8 out 0f 10 have oral herpes, which is usually caused by the virus hsv-1. 5% of oral herpes is caused by hsv-2.
You can get a type specific blood test, if it is more than three minths since you feel you were exposed.
The blood test would tell you if you had hsv-1 or hsv-2. but it could not tell you in what location on your body you had the viruses.
If you tested positive for hsv-2, it would generally be assumed you had a genital infection with it.
If you tested positive for hsv-1, they would probably say you most likely had it orally, especially if you never remember having symptoms, but there is a small posibilty it could be a genital infection.
Herpes is NOT tested for on most standard std screens. It is a separate blood test.

I got identified with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 3 years back, whilst I was still in college and had a mindless one-night stand. I understand lots of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and suddenly it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone that has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/PlN3X everything improved.
Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the hsv from my system in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This method gave me back the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I hope that I can help others by sharing this story.

You probably do. Most people carry some variation of the virus. Are you asking about herpes on your mouth, genitals, or cervix. They are all VERY different.
Go to google images and type in herpes. That will show you what it looks like. You can use words like oral, genital and cervical.

You cannot know until you have a test done by a doctor. Although there are symptoms, some people have none. This is why it is so rampant in our society.
I would recommend getting yearly tests for STD's and HIV if you are sexually active. These tests are simple to have done, and keep you aware of your health.

Type in a search engine "herpes" and if you have any symptoms, get treated by a doctor. You can ask your last partner if he has any disease.
