I bought a used 2001 Ford Mustang and they said they put new brake pads, rotors and calipers on the front end, but on my way home the front right was smoking and smelled like they were burning. I took it back to get the work done on it, on my way when I was slowing down to go to a complete stop, under 10 mph, they started to squeak. They said the calipers were locked up and replaced them but on my way home they still squeaked. It was raining pretty hard so I don't know if it was just the moisture or if there is still something wrong with them. Any help or suggestions needed. THANKS.

I think I'd have a different mechanic evaluate what they claim has been done to fix your brakes. Some car lots aren't as honest as they should be. Find a trustworthy shop to check it out. Good luck.

As long as the caliper/lockup problem has been corrected, replace the pads with a good quality ceramic pad...Akebono or Napa Adaptive One would be my recommendation of brand...no more squeak.

my ex b/f had a mustang...i think it was '02 though, but anyways, it was freakin' squeaky....when he slowed down...like everytime we came to a stop, it would make this annoying screeching sound. and the only way he fixed it was replacing the car w/ a new one...b/c none of the repairs actually fixed the noise...despite what the mechanics did. sorry, no suggestions.

Tell them to replace brake hoses to(rubber hoses). If they collapsed, you can change 10 calipers with no success, they still will lockup.
