I had my first interview with an accounting firm (with about 20 employees) on Oct. 3rd and a second interview on Nov. 5th. The second partner I interviewed with said I would be a good fit and more than capable of doing the work. I have been in contact with the firm and they say they are still really interested. How long does it normally take to get a job offer if they're as interested as they say they are? I only have 3 weeks of college left and I'm starting to get anxious. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I was supposed to interview with two partners for my second interview, but the one was unable to make it because she was with a client. The partner I met with said I probably wouldn't need to come back for a third interview. Also, I was told that they would get back to me last week, but I think they forgot it was Thanksgiving.

You would usually have heard by now, but if someone was sick or on vacation who had to sign off on it, then it might take awhile longer. Or they could still be interviewing others for the position - not what you want to think about, I know. If they weren't still interested though, they wouldn't have told you that they were when you talked to them recently. Did they say then when they thought they'd have a decision?
If you don't hear from them this week, it would be reasonable to call them around next Monday, ask if there's anything else they need from you to help them make a decision, and ask them when they think they'll have a decision. That would NOT be considered rude or pushy.
Good luck.

Hi, I'm exactly in the same situation as you, I'm gonna graduate in 2 weeks, I started job hunting in Sep. I'm majored in Economics, maybe that's why I don't get so many interviews,I'm anxious as hell because I don't have anything to do besides searching for jobs online like crazy, so far, I only have one company that I had 2 interviews already, they are supposed to give me answer after thanksgiving, but the HR said the hiring is freezed due to the budget issue, but the position is not filled yet, what's that meaning?it's so damn quite open in the air, I have to consider it as another failure.
I tried lots of ways to find jobs, i prefer to look for those jobs that they post the exact closing date, so I don't have to wait for them endlessly.
I'm sure you might think about to call them to make sure your application going, trust me, I did too, but it didn't bring me anything better, company is company, they won't consider how soon you will finish your school and how desperately you are dying for a job, they only care about who's the best candidate with enough experience and asking for not much money.
I just read an artical about how to relax yourself during waiting for the response of the companies,I can totaly understand when you go through 2 or even more interviews, you can't help putting hope on it, but life is going on, we shouldn't waste our energy and time of being anxious, because it's helpless, just try to look for as many jobs as you can, as long as you don't get an offer yet, consider all those interviews nothing, more hope, more disappointed!

If you already had an interview with the company, it can take up to 2-3 weeks before they offered if they don't set up a third interview. It also depends on the company, some people prefer get it resolve before or after the holidays. However, if they really like you and want you, it would take like a week or two for them to make their decision. Did they mention about picking the finalist for the third interview? I hope you'll get the job. Good Luck!

they could be busy actually working and haven't had time to discuss it yet - call Friday and ask if they have made a decision yet
