I went in for a physical today, and everything seemed fine. About an hour later, my mom called me and said the dr office couldnt get ahold of me, so they called her, and said I am severly dehydrated. There was 4 big plus signs on the test (no idea what this means) and i need to drink NOW. So i get worried, call the dr office, but they are now closed for the day. I have been drinking the same amount i always do, so it worries me...should i be concerned or would the dr have said to go to the hospital or something if something was wrong?

The general rule is that a person should consume 6 to 8 glasses of water and other fluids per day to avoid dehydration. Other fluids besides water include fruit/vegetable juices, clear broth, jello, yogurt, ice cream/sherbet/frozen yogurt, soup. If something were seriously wrong, the doc would have had you go to the hospital. Even so, call the office again and leave a message to have the doc call you to explain the results of your physical and what you should do about the dehydration.

No they would of not said go to the hospital ...if it was a real emergency like a big life threatening emergency they would of kept calling ...i think you should call your doctors office right now and your doctor might not be their but there is always a on call doctor ...call the doctors and tell the answering service you really need to speak with the on call doctor ..and tell him or her what happened ..they will tell you whats wrong ..just tell them your doctor called and said their were two plus signs next to the dehydration part of it ...i would just say drink plenty plenty of water until tomorrow ! Hope this helps you sweetie ..and calm down ..you should be fine ! Keep me informed !
