plzzz help me... i forgot this one
ive read somethin about this pope i just forgot his name and the name of the drug, that he became addicted to this drug which is mixed as an ingridient in his wine...
here are some hints that i still remember..
*this addictive drug is first thought as a medicine... its mixed with most of the things people ingest becoz people first thought its a med.
*i believe this has a certain part in the generation of Hippies
*the pope i was askin cant have another day without this drug

I don't know about the name of the Pope but the drug might have been Laudanum - an opiate in liquid form that one drinks and is mixed with alcohol.

A coca wine that went under the name "Vin Mariani" was heartily endorsed by Leo XIII. I don't know exactly how enthusiastic he was about it. I don't think it was kept in the sacristy.

I am sure there have been many who have used many various drugs over 2,000 years.
Popes (like everyone else) used to openly use cocaine, that was before it was illegal or known to be dangerous or addicting.
