while loperamide is sometimes used it would be best to contact your vet to make sure its ok and to find out a dose. your dog could also have pancreatitis because of eating people food.

Don't EVER give your dog any kind of medication (especially meds intended for people) without first checking with a vet. Some drugs designed for people can actually be poison to dogs. You could kill your dog or make her sicker. I don't know if loperamide is toxic to dogs, as I am not a vet. But you'd really hate yourself if it was and you didn't call your vet before administering it.

I'm a breeder, I don't know where you are, but where I live Parvo is rampid!!! LOTS of dogs came down with parvo during Thanksgiving. I should know, I was one of them. I lost her the night after Thanksgiving. I thought she had eaten something that wasn't good for her until she just got sicker and sicker!!!! Take your dog to the vet!!! Make sure it's not parvo!! If it's not, LUCKY you!!! And just use some canned pumpkin, NOT the pumpkin pie filler, it's next to that, just plain canned pumpkin. OR Slippery Elm Bark is even better!!!
Keep her hydrated, warm, and sugar, i.e. karo syrup, honey, if dogs loose too much water it hurts their brain and brain function, sugar will help stabilize their blood sugar levels. Beef liver too!!
Hope this helps!!!! But for about $35.00 bux or so your vet should be able to give you peace of mind that you're not dealing with anything serious!!!
P.S. canned pumpkin works for diarrhea OR constipation!!! Just an FYI for the person who said it's for constipation only!

Fast for 24 hours, then put on a boiled chicken and rice diet. When stools return to normal slowly start switching back to kibble diet.
If diarrhea persists for more than 24 hrs., time to go to the vet. AND NO MORE PEOPLE FOOD!!!
To above poster -- canned pumpkin is a remedy for BOTH constipation and diarrhea.

if you want your dog near death! Turkey has a bad effect on dogs for a short time.. Also, caffiene in pop or coffee will give them diarrhea. But many do not treat their dog as an individual. Dogs are not the same... God bless your cleanup! Earl

Pumpkin is not for diarrhea, it's for constipation...
I agree with one of the other answers. Keep her hydrated and on regular dog food. If the behavoir continues for the next couple of days take her to a vet.
Chicken and rice is to harden the stool if a dog has loose stools. Pumpkin loosens the stool.

I would just give her some plain canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) A teaspoon-tablespoon should do, depending on her size.
I personally wouldn't give her any immodium without the vet's consent.
Is it just diarrhea, or is she lethargic/not eating as well? I would take her to the vet, in that case.

by feeding your dog "alot of people food" you have created her to have obvious digestive upset, I would not recommend giving your dog any immodium, I would recommend that she see her veterinarian so that they can give her medication to treat her intestinal tract and they will make sure she is not dehydrated too. Good Luck.

Lesson learned...dogs do not do well on lots of people food due to the high spice content, sodium content, and grease.
Make sure she has plenty of water, even some diluted Pedialite will do her well. Keep her on her normal dog food, and if she still has problems I would consult a vet.

Not a problem. The most important is the dosage. You have to decide it, for it's weight. The dogs are mammals so their methabolism is quite similar to humans.
