I know they are supposed to "save" us an all, but why do they insist they know everything about other religions? Even when corrected by someone who PRACTICES the religion, they claim they know. Why worry about it? Can't you worship your god and other people worship thiers in peace?

JC I don't care what they "think". I understand Christianity and can even respect it when practiced in earnest. What I do NOT like and DO care about is when they flat out lie about other people's religion, espcially Catholic and pagan

So Victor, you care about me because God says to? Excuse me if I don't feel all warm and fuzzy about that.

Lying about Pagans is big business. There's money in it. Just look at all the books and speakers who have been discredited completely, their stories entirely disproved, yet they still manage to sell books. Some people want to hear the worst, so they eat it up with out regard for the truth. Hucksters learn to play on the fears of Christians and use that fear to separate them from their money. I saw a fake letter from an "ex-witch" on here the other day, and Christians were completely taken in by it. Though it was an obvious fake.Who cares? They liked what it said. The truth cannot compete with that. There are people on here who still sound like Jack Chic tracts. They "worry" about us because the "us" and "them" mentality creates a false sense of struggle. The false struggle creates a sense of urgency that keep the flock in a tizzy. Casting us as villains and convincing church goers that we are something to be worried about fills collection plates. After all, nothing brings two people together like the hatred of a third party.
Plus it is more entertaining in a ghoulish way. I mean, which do you think a bored fundamentalist would rather believe?
1. I'm a friendly wife and mom with principles and morals, who is also a Pagan and a Witch.
2. I eat babies! Get in ma belly!

I think they worry so much about other religions because they feel the need to put other religions into a pile that is labeled "wrong" in order to convince themselves that their religion is the one and only one that is "right."
When a big part of a religion is telling its followers that it is the one and only true religion, it is necessary, in order to keep this myth going, to put all the other religions down. This is the case with Christianity.
Fortunately, it is not so with paganism. We say that there is more than one way to spiritual truth, and that no one way is the right way for all. If Christianity taught and believed that, they might not feel the need to worry about the beliefs of everyone else.

I was wondering the same thing and I am sick of the Christians always putting others down. I think they are trying to convince themselves they are right. Why else would they say other people are going to hell if they don't have some doubts. I think it is easier for them to say others are wrong and they are the only ones that have everlasting peace in accepting jesus. But yet they sit back and say homosexuals are going to hell. I wonder who gave them all this power to tell othres where they are going. Maybe they don't want to be alone so they have to make sure others are going with them. I thought they believed God was the only judge. I guess they are too confused and if they no homosexuals are going to hell, I wonder who else they deem evil and where they are going. One of them must have gotten that book with everyones name in it. where do rapists go? Is my name in it because my son is gay and it is because of people like them he does not believe in the bible anymore. They are just a bunch of confused individuals who need some valium to relax and stop preaching and judging. How the hell do they no where anyone is going they might be going to hell for saying homosexuality is a sin and everytime someone disagrees with one another they make up a new church. Sounds absurd and just rather leave that crap up to them to worry about

I'm a christian and I have no use for religion. It hasn't done anybody any good since those "Religious leaders" developed it.
I worship God my own way, not how somebody tells me to.
I don't lie to convince. The truth doesn't always win friends, but it does influence people.

As a Christian we are commanded by Jesus to go to the uttermost parts of the earth with the Gospel. That is why we care about you. With a sincere heart I wish you had seen the things I've seen, I have seen miracles in the name of Jesus, just by speaking his name was my knee healed. I have had visions of the third heaven. And I pray that Jesus open up a window for you, and show you a sign, that will reveal to you that he is real, if he hasn't already, if you know the truth, and it hasnot set you free, there is no more that I can do, except hope that you will someday open up your heart, and let Jesus in. His death on the Cross at Calvery, beaten and tortured, will have been in vain if you do not believe, he died for each one of us, his blood shed washed away our sins, if we believe. But it is a personal matter and you must choose yourself, your parents or any other person cannot get saved for you, its totally up to you, may the grace of God surround you, and set you free.

1) We can't save you. Only through His Grace and your Faith in Him can you be saved.
2) Our job isn't even to try to save you. Our job is to tell you about Christ. The Bible says that the watchman who sees an approaching army and doesn't sound the alarm is responsible for all who die. If the watchman sounds the alarm and nobody responds, they are responsible for themselves. All we're doing is sounding the alarm. You can choose weather or not to believe.
3) I , personally, never claimed to know anything about other religions. I spend my time learning as much as I can about the one true religion, Christianity.

some people know more about christianity than some christians. not all, of course. i believe what i believe and they believe what they believe. if people would just understand that. . .
christians get offended when people say this, but i've never seen a pagan stand on a street corner handing out packets about paganism and preaching their beliefs to the world.

Because they have been "commanded" to "spread the word." I'm just grateful it's no longer at the point of a sword but I know some that wish for those days. I wish more were like my cousin and his family and walk the talk and live good lives with love.

Interesting. Never thought Christians really insisted they knew other religions. I LOVE to study religion. Even as a Christian. If I am corrected I welcome it. I am only 13 and want to know more about others beliefs even if I don't agree with them.

Point of difference; scriptural 'Christianity' focuses on purifying self; 'Christianity' here in USA presently, many people focus on cleaning up others. (We (man) controls ones own thoughts and actions; we only influence others currently).
