I'm not suicidal, I just have a question.Do you believe that suicides go to Heaven? I believe that once Jesus saves you, you're saved for good, so doesn't that mean that even if you kill yourself, you'll still go to Heaven?

The Roman Catholic Church believes that they may be forgiven.

No I don't believe so. One of the commandments is "Thou shalt not kill" If you break a commandment and don't ask for forgiveness how can you go to Heaven.? BUT-----how do we know if a person didn't repent before dying? Maybe they had time before the end to repent and get the forgiveness needed. It's a hard situation for the ones left behind that loved the person. Also, I don't believe God would cast away a mentally challenged person. How would we know the mental state of the person? This is my belief and some Bible also. So there's really no way of knowing. We can only hope the person had the time needed Since we will have no pain in Heaven we won't know if the person made it or not. HOPE is all we have for that situation I think. Hope my views help you.

If you commit suicide it is usually because you dislike your life, have self esteem problems, or something other than that. If you are a true Christ follower, then you should be fully in his hands and bring your troubles and thoughts to him. Im not saying if you've thought about it then your not Christian. I mean, Ihave had Christian friends who have seriously struggled with the thought of commiting suicide, BUT they got through it by the grace of God. So i have to ask... if you go through with suicide, then are you REALLY a christian?
If you have time to repent before you die, they you go to heaven, but if you dont, i have serious doubts that you do. Of course i cannot judge those people, that is for God and God alone. One thing i do know however is that the person would not go to Purgatory.... mostly becuase IT DOESNT EXIST!!

You commit a sin when you take a life, including your own. It's pretty much a slap in the face to God and it's not exactly living as Christ would have, so I don't think so.

On the other hand, the bible says if you believe that Jesus is your savior and died for your sins, than you will be saved. So I guess that makes me just as confused as you are.

If I had to guess in the event of a suicide, I would say you do not go to heaven because you have not atoned for your sin at the time of death; and if you do believe that Jesus is your Savior, you have turned your back Him and his teachings.

The old taboo said that if you commited suicide you would automatically go to hell. No one knows where anyone is going and probably won't find out even after they're dead. People who commit suicide are at best temporarily insane and incapable of making a valid decision on their own. They have just as much chance of going to heaven as the rest of us.

All of us go to God when this life ends, no matter how it ends. A suicide is particularly sad, because it is a life prematurely terminated before that person had learned the lessons he or she was put here to get.

I don't think we're held responsible if we suffer brain damage that causes suicidal thoughts. But it's really not my call. That stuff is up to the Lord.

Gal 2:16-21
16know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.

17"If, while we seek to be justified in Christ, it becomes evident that we ourselves are sinners, does that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not!
18If I rebuild what I destroyed, I prove that I am a lawbreaker. 19For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God.
20I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
21I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"

Committing suicide (or even just TRYING) is the meanest and most hurtful thing a person can ever do to the people who love them. You will NOT go to Heaven (I HOPE).
