Use as many separate pieces as it's feasible, and apply as few as you can at any one time . If you can, possibly rip each piece in half, so you have more, abet smaller sheets. (but be reasonable!)

I'm sure you should nearly maximise the surface area of the towels. Thus, tear them into small pieces - as small as possible - and apply into an even layer upon your face.
As previously mentioned, they do tend to stick. So you'll be quite dry, but also look like the Incredible Giant Confetti Monster.

OK. To answer your question. Use them separately because that way you will have more surface area of the towel on your face and most water will be absorbed. The remaining thin film of water will evaporate instantly due to diffusion.

depends on the brand of paper towel! Hate to say it but Bounty would do it 1 at a time doubt Tesco or fiesta would --- God I'm tragic!!

Paper towls will just break and stick in little fluffy bits to your face. Probably just best letting the moisture evaporate naturally.

Dry as completely as possible with the first, then use the second (which is still completely dry at this point) to finish off the job.
