If you want to find a job working for a foundation, then you want to proceed just as you would looking for any job, and you will start to see what positions are available, what skills they are seeking, and how do you fit in.

In addition to the usual job search engines, there are some resources that post openings specifically for nonprofits and foundations - you can start by looking up the Chronicle of Philanthropy at http://www.philanthropy.com and checking out the positions available in your area.

I'm going to be real blunt here - if you work for a foundation, you probably work just as hard as at another job, and deal with similar issues, but likely make less money.

If money isn't an issue, you might consider just retiring, and volunteering with a foundation so you can work as much or as little as you want to, and have some choice on what you work on.
