I think that a white tux and a white wedding dress are very very eighties/early nineties. My brother got married in 1988 and their matching pure white is a clear indication of the era they got married in. Plus, then he'll have to wear white patent leather shoes, and I'm willing to bet he wouldn't be too enthusiastic about that.
Plus guys aren't nearly as good as women at not getting dirty. I saw some wedding show where the guy got a little bit of dirt on his white shirt, and he was a total prima donna and insisted on making the bride wait for an hour so he could get a new one.
I say, go classic at go with a black tux with a white shirt, and a colored or white vest. Think Frank Sinatra or Clark Gable. And consider looking back at your wedding pictures in 50 years.

I just showed this image to my boyfriend and told him he'd have to wear it when we get married and he gave me what can only be described as the wounded puppy face.

Overall, I wouldn't think it would look nice, just eighties. And while most of that decade was pretty cool, the white tuxedo part of it was NOT. Go with classic looks and have mercy on your husband to be.

I don't care for white tuxes, personally. Looks too much like prom. Why not a white dinner jacket with black pants, or a black tux with white tie and vest? It's much more sophisticated.

Keep in mind that a white tux is going to get dirty pretty much the minute the guys put them on.

I was recently at a wedding where the guys all wore white, and they all look like ice cream men. We kept asking them what flavors they had all night.

A pure white tux looks very 80's in my personal opinion.

I think they should look fine. I imagine the tux will have a colored tie and vest and the bride will be holding flowers and that will break up the white a bit.
edit: Yes, make sure they are both white. My hubby wore a white shirt and I had an off white dress and it did not look as good as it could have had we matched exactly.

My fiance wants white tuxes ... my dress isn't going to be stark white, it's going to be a diamond white or ivory, so the tuxes are going to be whatever shade of white my dress is going to be. I like the idea of white tuxes, but I think it would look funny if I wore an ivory dress and the tuxes were stark white.

My friend and her husband both wore white. He had an all white tux and white shoes and she was, of course, all in white. They actually looked good; better than I thought they would. Some people just can't pull off wearing all white but it depends. Try different things on and see if you like it.

I love the look of a white wedding dress and white tuxes with black ties. The black and white photographs look amazing.

White tuxes are not very classy. Classic, black tuxedos are timeless and when you look at your pictures twenty years from now, you will not regret your choice.

my fiance and I are both wearing ivory but no one else is. the bridesmaids are wearing wine colored dresses and the groomsmen are wearing black tuxes in the same style as the groom with wine vests and ties. I actually just asked yesterday how my dress and his tux looked together and everyone loved it!
