Yes, it is. If it is freezing, they may freeze to death.
Make sure they have a warm shelter with blankets, towels and maybe a heating pad set on low.

It is not cruel nor will they die being out in the cold...that's if they have shelter. If it's cold enough outside and they don't have a warm place to stay (like a barn, garage, etc.), then yes, they can die from the cold or get extremely sick. Just make sure they have their shots also and feed them regularly so their immune systems are high and they stay healthy. If they have no kind of shelter whatsoever outside, then they should be kept indoors. I hope I didn't sound negative in any way, I LOVE cats, I have 2 indoor cats of my own but I do know how to take car of outside cats also, knowing that I lived on a farm my whole life and had tons of cats, but they stayed in our barn and they would have kittens all the time and they were all fine. Just make sure they have shelter and don't hesitate to provide blankets or straw for them. Please take care of the kittens!

that is disgusting that he should suggest such a thing. It is animal abuse and he should be reported although I do realise that you are probably not in a position to do that.
I would speak with your mother about this and hopefully she will be able to tell him that it is not an option.
i do have an additional concern here as well. If he is happy to basically put little kittens outside in the ocls for them to die a sow agonising death then I wonder how he treats your mother and you.
You can judge a person's caring of other creatures by the way he/she treats animals.
It may be time for your mother to tell this guy to leave!!!

Yes, it is very cruel. First of all, you should have your cat neutered and keep it inside!! But talk to your mum and explain that they cannot stay out there. Most likely they will get injured and die which is very unnecessary. If they can't come in, try to find homes for the poor kitties.

Not only is it cruel but it could kill them or cause them problems later in life. The cold air could not only freeze them to death, or give them sever frostbite (depending on the temperature) but cause infections and, because they are so young, tamper with the development of their immune system. This could lead to disease or even death later in their lives. I volunteer at a local animal shelter and have see the consequences of this too many times. It really is a terrible thing to do to kittens that young, not to mention any animal being left out in the cold.

That is very cruel and that would be considered abuse and neglect...illegal!! Also get your cat spayedand this wont happen! Good luck...tell him they're staying inside that they will die outside and if he says no and ur mom wont help, sneak them in! or give them to a shelter or foster parent until the kittens are old enough to go to new homes and you can get the momma cat back!

did they go out right away? if so, they will probably freeze to death (that might be what the bf wants) kittens need warmth, if there is nothing you can do about them being outside: get them blankets, a water bottle if you have it and make sure the mother has lots of food. is the kittens mother with them? cause if not, they will die of hunger.

Very cruel. Why are you not doing anything to help the kittens? They need good homes and quick. They absolutely should not be outside in the cold.

The kittens need warmth. They don't have the ability to control their body temperature yet. They must be kept WITH THEIR MUM, INSIDE, for at least 4 weeks. Your cat should have been spayed in the first place, it is obvious your family cannot take care of kittens.

YEAH definately ITs cruelty. Kittens can survive like that outside under any circumstances. They need to be cared for and they have to be next to their mommy. Call spca on him. Thats just plain cruelty!

Report him to the local SPCA!!! Its Illegal!!!
Do NOT let those kittens freeze. Its up to you now to protect them from that jack ***. Someone ought to put him outside.
See if you can find someone here in Yahoo close to you locally, to take them for you.
I know I'm not close, its not freezing here in Fla. I'd love to have them, I raise kittens all the time.
Keep us up to date on the babies, and good luck!!! Tom
