Well i do change moods at least 3-4 times a day. They dont seem to be extreme tho, like tearing up a room. Sometimes small things like thinking about dinner make me happy and i get hyper and jittery. Then i can get anger form small things to and sometimes i just pound the wall for no reason at all. Im always irratible, like i snap out at my mom when she asks me even simple yes or no questions and usually lie when i answerer, idk why its not like telling the truth to the questions would get me in trouble. I often go from being motivated and orginaized to saying F**** life and not give a S*** about anything. Friends often say there afraid to mess with me because when i get angry they dont know what ill do and most of my friends are double my size. I just got fired they said i had a bad attitude, but i think it was the job most of the mangers were ****** anyways. I know bipolar is genetic and my dad seems to be similar but has never said he was bipolar. Im 16 its not puberty.

if you are even questioning the issue of being or not being bi-polar go speak to a professional that can correctly diagnose you -- you will know the answer and can move on from there with a plan in mind on how to treat it or on how to better deal with the situations in question

You sound as if you are extremely stressed, and have too much to deal with at a young age. You are a wonderful person to be trying to help your family by working two jobs, that is difficult enough for an adult to do.

You do sound as if you could use a counselor in order to have someone that you can really talk through all of the issues you have being a teen and having a Dad that is an alcoholic.

Using barely disguised swear words and calling people by unacceptable terms does speak to some anger issues. At sixteen you are still going through puberty with a lot of chemical and hormonal changes in your body. Some of these changes are what is causing you to have the hyper and jittery feelings.

If you are in school, plus working a lot, you are most likely not getting enough restful sleep at night and that will lead to changing moods.

The fact that you are saying that you are irritable and pounding the wall for no reason, means that you are feeling out of control internally, and expressing it in this way. This type of anger can worsen and you may find yourself pounding something or even someone other than a wall if you don't get some better understanding of what is going on.

If your friends are commenting that they don't know what you are capable of doing when you get angry, and they most likely know you a bit better than almost anyone else in your life; that is another indication that you should be getting some counseling and help for your difficulties.

Bi-polar is much more severe than this in most cases, you just need to learn to deal with stress or cut down on the stressors in your life in order to be more in control.

You can talk to the counselors at school, your family doctor or even someone in your local hospital or social services department and they can help you find a counselor to work with.

If you make an appointment for a check up with your family doctor, he or she will be able to make some recommendations for you.

I wish you the best and I wish the best for your family also.

Bipolar Disorder works different for most people, and it's not always the big manic-depressive swings that people often expect. For me, it's content to ultra-depressed. Bipolar isn't always genetic, and it's possible that part of it at least has to do with behavior patterns learned from your father. Don't be so quick to discount your puberty, however. Being 16 still puts you in the middle of it, and even if you have bipolar tendencies, hormonal imbalances common during teenage years can have a dramatic effect. Talk to your parents, tell them you'd like to talk to your Dr. While you don't necessarily have to go to a shrink, many family practitioners will give you medication, it's usually a good idea to approach it from all directions.

No it's not bipolar disorder. You seam very anxious and maybe you go through many mood changes but it's not bipolar disorder. People with something wrong with them think they're completely Ok, I'd know I'm DEFINITELY NOT insane! lol.

The truth is that you're missled about when puberty ends. It's not the same with every single person! You sound like a bit of a hypocondriac. (I am one, so don't think i'm doing this to be mean) At our age- I'm nearly, nearly, nearly 16 years old- we feel worried, easily happy, angry, aggitated, hyper... but we also judge ourselves as being more mature than we are. it's very easy to say "I must have bipolar disorder" when you secretly know that it's not true, it's just teenage angst. you just don't want it to be Teenage angst, becaus less controll over it. Yes, don't think i don't know what i'm talking about... because we don't ALL finish this stage at the same time. Don't we?

Hope that was... enlightening...

Sounds like it could be. Go to your family doctor and get sent to a specialist. I have depression and I don't get the hyper modes but boy can i be an mean sumbich if i didn't take my meds. If you think you have this disorder get help, see a doctor and go from there. I was damn lucky my friends are still my friends, so I know half of what you have and its a poor a** life isn't it. Get Help and Live your life as you want it. not this way.

You first action should be to see a mental health professional. I am bipolor. I have mood swings but they last for days on end. I will be depressed for months and then go into what is called psychotic mania where i become a rapid cycler and go back and forth all day. I have the severe form called manic depression. I certainly hope you dont have that, Please see a doctor and let them give you a diagnosis.

Only a doctor can diagnose you with Bipolar Disorder. You can check out WebMD to see if your "sympoms" check out, and give you some things to bring up with your doctor.
