My parnets whopped me when I needed it and I'm fine. I spank my kids when they need it too.

I got my butt tore up more than once when I refused to reason and do as I was told.
I left my parents no alternative because I was stubborn and hard headed and just wanted my way at times like many many other kids I knew.
Sure there were other forms of punishment that other kids parents tried and we all laughed and made fun of because we knew those things would never work on us.We would just up the ante.
Did I get mad and accuse them of not loving me when they spanked me?
Yes because it was my way of trying to make them "feel guilty".They stuck to their guns though.When I was older and I saw the kids who received no discipline they were as bad or WORSE than the kids who were abused.
I was grateful they spanked me and made me behave,if they didnt, I probably would have ended up in prison.

Yes, I grew up fine with plenty of discipline. Today, most parents don't seem to stress manners and stuff. That really shows up big time when those kids are around the kids of parents that took the time to train and discipline their kids.
Small evidence: Kids that say please and don't interrupt adults who are speaking.
Large evidence: Teens that are in gangs or get in trouble with the police...because their parents wimped out of the rules.

My parents said that it hurt them more than me. I kinda get that, because they did it out of love for me, and I probably needed it.
When it was dished out... I deserved it. They did it for my sake, not because they were mean.

I got "whoopins" but I think a lot of them were unnecessary. But overall I think parents should spank their kids every now and then. I didn't sneak out and have sex, don't have any kids out of wedlock, graduated college, and I own my own car and pay my own rent and bills so I can say I turned out pretty good compared to a lot of women I know whose parents let them do pretty much whatever they wanted.

I've had my share of whoopins and I'm fine. My kids had their share of whoopins too and they are fine too. Nothing wrong with a good whoopin when needed. Doesn't come with a manual or instruction booklet, but it works very well.
