I have been a vet tech for 35 years. I've worked with horses, ponies, dogs & cats..my major specialty is dogs and some in cats since these are the areas I've worked the most in and studied the most. My extensive study has been in canine nutrition, canine pain management, canine reproduction & breeding.
No vet or vet tech can legally give you medical advice or prescribe meds over the internet. Diagnosis must be made after a hands on exam by a licensed vet, this is the law..

Not that still have a license to practice medicine. They are at work.
"vet tech" is very knowledgeable.
I too am a vet tech, but wouldn't take my own advice on true medical issues because I haven't been to Vet school. I can tell you common symptoms, common myths and general well known facts about typical everyday veterinary concerns. I cannot tell you how to treat your dog for any suspected illness because I have not seen your dogs symptoms and again, I am only a tech. SO, be careful what advice you ask for. Anything that involves medical attention needs to be called in to your vet.

I have only seen one vet on this site, he is a Yahoo official, here: http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt=AqW.huOQErdk.TAC6.ILGw3L7BR.;_ylv=3?show=HVt3LTnsaa
I do really trust Vet Tech;s advice. She really knows what she is talking about and is one of the nicest members. She helped me with my dog when my own vet could not come up with a diagnosis. She recommended a test for my vet and run and sure enough he was positive! My vet was impressed with her knowledge. She followed up with me to see how my dog was. She is cool.

There is only 1 that I trust to be a "Real" vet, the rest are 13 year olds playing make believe...The only one I truly trust as a Vet Tech is "Vet Tech", again, lots of impostors in that ring too.
I'll be back with a link to his profile...
Edit - Here is the one person that I believe is a real vet - He has a "Knowledge Parter" stamp (Like Top Contributor)
