The God Yahweh is quoted in the Bible as making a genetic change to humans after Noah's flood that over many generations reduced the lifespan of modern humans from 900 + years old to 120 years old. Abraham lived towards the end of that era in human evolution. Moses was 120 years old when God took his life.

No way. God just showed favoritism.
Apparently being just and righteous means the same as being biased, depending on which way the bias is. I know a few Christians who would KILL to be described as righteous. Pun intended. I'm in a sarky mood, after all.
Well, I guess it's all for the unbeliever, which just seems to be EVERYONE right now.
Oh well. I'll let the Christians and Atheists squabble away about the existence of God while I try and improve my future by helping others. When people start treating me in kind and recognising my sacrifices, its worth is GREATER than money. Maybe when I die after a fulfilled life of sharing and satisfaction, I just might not CARE where I go.
And I never say 'you're wrong'. I might not believe in God, but if one was to tap me on the shoulder tomorrow, I'd believe in His/Her/Their existence, but still wouldn't follow. I've chosen my path.
((((hugs))))
See? Insults AND morals. Aren't I a clever one? lol
Sorry, sarky mood.
May peace go with you throughout your life

There was an actual civilization of people in Italy that lived to around 200 years. So, even though The Bible is overall far from the truth, considering that ancient peoples were more active and ate more natural foods, it could be a possibility.
But as far as the other "humans" Adam and his descendants living for like 1,000 years, that's just amazingly impossible. They would have to be aliens or something...

We do not know how old Abraham was when he died. There was no calendar back then. People did not document births with birth certificates. 175 years means that he lived a very long time.

Abraham was not a Christian. He is the tail end of those who lived much longer-Adam lived 930 years, Methuselah lived 969 years. After the flood longevity decreased rapidly. God did not say in the NT that Christians would not need doctors-as a matter of fact he said the opposite.

And Noah was around 500-600 years old. Isn't it amazing how the biblical world is nothing like the real world. Actually it isn't amazing at all, bible is a historical novel!
Something else I find remarkably funny about the bible. All the stories revolve around the same location, the middle east. It's almost as if the authors wrote about locations they knew about, hmmmmm wonder why god didn't tell these guys about Australia or North America when they were writing this stuff down. Christian are you gonna stick to this nonsense that the Bible was written by GOD himself, do you want to remain ignorant of reality?

You're confusing fundamentalism with Christianity in general. Many contributions to the medical field have come from Christians. Christianity does not oppose science.

You're right, it is. Cell phones cause brain tumors, pretty much all the food is contaminated, nearly all the toys have been recalled, there is an epidemic of obesity, and seems like EVERYTHING science makes causes cancer. Things don't look so hot do they?

If you think Social Security is in rough shape now, it's nothing like what would happen if everyone lived to 175. Not to fail to mention the cost of health insurance.....
