Not eating is the worst thing you can do to your body. What you need to do is eat right (no fast food or junk food) and exercise.

Instead of not eating, perhaps have a talk with your parents about eating a bit more healthfully.
Add veggies and fruit to your diet.
Stop drinking any calories. If a beverage has more than 5 calories, put it back. That includes fruit juices, soda[ not diet ] and all sorts of power drinks.
Stop with the chips and have popcorn once in a while.Drink fat free milk and enjoy low fat dairy products.
Lean meat is very important.
After that add some additional exercise to your your daily routine. Walk, jog or join any team at school.
You are not yet your final height so, you will continue to grow and you need good healthy foods to do that.
You may also want to talk to your school social worker as you may feel out of control.
The social worker can help you out with that.

I wish you the very best.

Hi Losing weight has to do with exercise, combined with calorie intake, just as simple as that. You are 14 , and still growing, you can't just stop eating . What you are probably thinking is if I stop eating, my body will use fat reserves to sustain me,well you are right to a degree. For your own good health,do some checking on your own ( I would think the net would be full of good sites. Where you are 14, and still in school, you know the answer, or not paying attention in school. If you want to lose weight it has to be done on a gradual basis.Cut back on your eats ( on your Dr's advise, what foods ect, consult him/her on an exercise programme.) I wish you all the best, but if you really want to lose weight you can do it. John T

I know boys are universally not as smart as girls, but this takes the cake.

What will happen if you quit eating? Hunger? Anger? Loss of sleep? Abusing others? No concentration at school? Lightness of head? Dizziness? Passing out?

I must be hungry myself, because I'm in a bee sting mood.

You eat as much as you want until you are 19 years old (not chips, soda & candy). Exercise a lot. After you turn 19, you're done growing tall, you're done growing with your weight, and your body doesn't need so many calories to build itself into an adult.

If your weight isn't okay with you at that time, you can cut a few hundred calories from your diet and start jogging. But not till then!

Don't stop eating, like another answerer said, that will just make it harder for you to lose weight in the long run. It also makes you more likely to develop a sick binge and purge pattern (trust me, I've went through this and it's hard).

Just develop a healthy eating plan for yourself (maybe ask your parents for help with this) and start exercising on a regular basis. Lots of lean proteins, vegetables, and whole grains would be great additions to your diet.
Creating a healthy lifestyle now will be something you can be grateful for your entire life.

Not eating is worse than eating badly. You can lose weight by eating healthily - fruits, veg, lean meat etc. Avoid junk food, fizzy drinks etc. Exercise as well is a crucial part of weight loss. Walk places, cycle, play sports, do whatever you can to get your heart pumping and help burn those calories off!

if you stop eating your body will think you are starving and go into survival mode and it will ruin your metabolism for the rest of your life. You just need to eat healthy food, fruits, vegs, NO fast food, and exercise more. NEVER quit eating to lose weight, bad idea!

CJ IS RIGHT.
IF YOU STOP EATING YOUR CRASH DIET WILL CRASH YOU AND WHEN YOU DO BEGIN TO EAT AGAIN THE POUNDS WILL DOUBLE OR TRIPLE. BESIDE THE CRASH DIET WILL ACTUALLY PULL WEIGHT FROM YOUR MUSCLES LEAVING YOU VERY WEAK AND TIRED.

STICK TO FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES, LEAN MEAT, WHOLE GRAIN BREADS, REAL MILK PRODUCTS.

STAY AWAY FROM FRIED AND GREASY FOODS, FAST FOODS THIS ALSO INCLUDES ALL THOSE PREMAID FOODS SNACKS AND DESSERTS EVEN IF THEY CLAIM LOW FAT......

AND EXERCISE, WALK, WORK OUT IN A GYM, SWIM, DANCE...... BUT DO IT 20 TO 30 MIN A DAY.

AND DO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU DID NOT GAIN YOUR WEIGHT IN ONE DAY AND SO IT WILL NOT ALL GO AWAY IN ONE DAY.

no, you will start out gaining even more weight, then your body will start eating at all your fat store, then after all the fat stores are gone, it will startt to eat away at your muscles and tissue, then your organs, not to mention you will be fainting from anemia every other day
