It can be difficult to find and the best stuff usually comes from a heathen brewer who's viewing it as a labor of love and faith, not just for profit.

That being said, while mead is great there is nothing wrong with using quality ale or fresh cider instead. Mead is not a ritual requirement.

Never confuse the tools of the ritual with the essence of the ritual, which is about connecting with the gods, ancestors, and spirits. If you're offering a worthy drink that you yourself find enjoyable then those you seek to honor will almost certainly accept and appreciate it.

Hail!

the most powerful mead is the mead you make yourself. There's a lot of books on how to make it. The longer you stay on the path the better you will know the way.

I have no idea. Most of the sites I've looked at don't sell directly online. Try various liquor stores, some have mead. If you can't find any there, I would suggest attempting to brew your own!

I'm of the mind if you can make it yourself you should. Since I haven't gotten all my brewing stuff, I just use hard cider. It's the meaning that makes the difference. Some of my most meaningful and deep interactions with the gods have been with a bottle of hard cider and tree. Simple.

I found Mead in my local Liquor store. You can also go to http://Gotmead.com and they have a dropdown menu where you can look up vendors by country or state/provence. If anything you can order it online.
