it isnt the amount of milk - it is the vitamin D and calcium intake that is important.
I know a 2yr old average is 16-20 oz a day but if he/she eats yogurt, cheese, calcium fortified breads etc.... then they may not need as much.
Im assuming the 3yr old is very close to that as well. I give my 4yr old about 16 oz a day and then he has a yogurt and cheese daily!

I dont think they are meant to have more than2 cups a day,
Although i must admit that mine have more than that as they love the white stuff,
But some times they can have to much! Which can cause constipation and even kidney problems, I know its hard to believe that something that is so good for you, can actually cause a problem, but my oldest son had to go for loads of tests because of the amount of milk he used to drink.

Whew! if there's one thing i know it's that little kids love milk!
my little girl isobsessed with it. I usually only allowed her 2 has 2 glasses a day but i don't think that it will hurt if u decide to give them a little more to make them stop crying or someting like that.

2 servings daily (1 serving is 1 cup) is the recommended amount.
