She *may* be a little tired directly following the spay, but then she will snap back to her normal energetic self! So, no worries she will NOT lose her puppy energy or playfulness :)

No when your get your puppy spayed they will still have all the energy that they had to begin with. Just one big tip, make sure your crate your puppy for the full ten days until she gets her stitches out and when you take her out keep her on a leash for this will prevent her from unwanted behaviour that may result in ripping out her stitches.
I know this because my puppy ripped out her stitches about three days after she got spayed and it is the worst thing to go through, plus you have to pay more in order for them to do what they have to do in order to put them back together.
Good Luck.

No, she will be the same old bundle of energy. What with Springer, Cocker, and Border Collie in her, her energy should last a lifetime!
Can we see a photo of the cutie??

After the surgery, you should keep her quiet for a few days, so that she doesn't tear out the stitches. After that, she can gradually get more active. She should be back to normal soon, though, and she will have the same energy and playfulness.

we spayed our shih tzu when she was almost a year old...and she was just grouchy for a few days. like it'll feel wierd for you also, but then again you don't want her to suffer later in her life and you don't want to end up with a bunch of new born puppies. go ahead and get it over with but don't expect her to be up and running when you get her home. just give her time and she should recover in a week or so. if she doesn't the i recomend that you take her back to the vet. get prepared to having to feed her by hand or cleaning her "mess" in the house cuz she might not feeling like going out for a walk. best of luck

Nope. My 8-month old golden retriever sure didn't. At age 5 she still hasn't. Neither did my border collie mix.

Once she recover's from her surgery she'll be just as playfull as before. She will actually be a better pet because she won't be going through her heat cycles which cause hormone changes and sometimes personality changes.
You are a responsible owner for spaying your pet.

Maybe for a day or two while she's still sore but it'll be right back as soon as she begins to heal. She's going to be the same dog you had before but without the risk annoying heat cycles and unplanned/unwanted pregnancies.

no way!! Thank you for spaying, by the way. More people need to do that because there are too many dogs that are in the shelter because someone out there didn't fix their dog, so they had puppies that no one wanted. So, thanks for being a good citizen!
