I am a Loner...
I also have BPD, Depression, am physically disabled... (Kinda lost out on the grab-bag of assorted party favors that is my genetic code, no?)
I was in a VERY bad relationship and it took a HUGE force of will to kick his stupid @$$ out of my house after 4.5 years of being together!!
I have decided that I am ACTIVLY NOT LOOKING for Love until I get some therapy and know that I will not end up in a CoDep relationship again!!
I completely consider it "Optional" and other then the financial security of having two incomes in a household I don't see the great rush to get married (with or without love) for the sake of convention and tradition...
I'm also 26 and Child-less by choice.
To be honest I'm damn grateful that I got out of my engagement without any kids! I couldn't bear the thought of procreating with my X and having to love something that is 50% jack@$$.
I have gone out and had "a good time" in the 4 years that I have been "Free" but do I "miss" looking for "Love"?
HELLNO!!
I figure that if I happen to find love then I won't throw it away but until I am more secure in my own life I don't want to complicate it by having to worry about someone ELSE's happiness TOO!

It really really matters. I used to think that I'd never find somebody who loved me. I was totally jaded. Nothing but jerk boyfriends, most my relationships never made it longer then a month. I thought i was just fine having a boyfriend, who payed my way and was just a walking wallet with a penis.
Then I met my husband. When you find the right person you know, there's no question about. It's like the destiny alarm goes of in your head. The only relationships that last are when there's love.
People are replaceable, but love isn't. Anyone who's told you differently has never really had it.

Everyone cares about love. It's in animals DNA.
A better question would be " How many of you think love lasts?"

It's not so much that I don't care but that I just don't want it in my life. I've been in love, real deep true love a couple of times in my life and it burned me both times. It turned me into an absolute mess and in one instance my love for someone else almost killed me. I love my kids, but as for a spouse or something I think it's way overrated.

In my opinion, everyone wants to be valued and accepted and most importantly loved but I think a person personal experiences with relationships and the age of a person affects just how involved or uninvolved they plan to be with another person. Also, factors that affect "love" are health, job, children, stress, and pressures from family.

I don't any more, but then I'm a cynical old cuss. :-) I don't believe romance exists for someone like me, so if I do remarry again it will be for practical reasons, not love. I tried twice to marry for love and I bombed out both times. But that's just my experience. Don't give up on it if you don't have to.
