2 things determine how many calories are expended during exercise. the first is the amount of muscle mass that the person has, a person with 200 lbs of lean muscle mass will burn substantially more calories performing the same activity at the same level of intensity than another with 150 lbs of lean muscle mass. the second is the intensity at which exercise is performed at. exercising at 80% intensity burns substantially more calories per unit of exercise than at 40% intensity.

this is why "knowing" what your body fat % is so important when it comes to dieting and exercise. guessing these things will get you now where fast
