I've been looking at recipes for breaded parmesan chicken and have the ingredients except for butter. Do i really need the butter to make it? thanks

Nope. I generally bread and then fry my chicken before I bake it with the cheese and sauce. Never did use any butter, but have used several different cheeses since i don't always have enough fresh parmesan.

no just moisten the chicken water will do, also use oil or spray,crisco something so won't stick in pan. sounds good- you are makin me hungry i love parmesan chicken

No. You can use margarine or even vegetable oil to get the crumbs to stick.
