Your brother's girlfriend's family cannot sponsor you. Only an immediate relative can submit the paperwork necessary to bring a person to the U.S. with an immigrant visa which is what you will need because you want to come to attend school, graduae, and then work in the States for 3 more years starting at the age of 18.

You sound like good guys, but your chances of seeing this dream come true are very poor.

In order to be eligible to apply for an immigrant visa, a foreign citizen must be sponsored by a U.S. citizen relative(s), a legal permanent resident spouse, or by a prospective employer.

Major immigrant categories are:
Immediate Relatives
Special Immigrants
Family-sponsored
Employer-sponsored

Wear your knickers!

Get a family to sponsor you and find a job ahead of time. Then you can apply for temporary work visas for up to a year, which can be renewed a couple of times.

You should get a sponsor, it must be a US citizen and over 18 years. I suggest looking at the following website for additional info:
http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

You might also want to get additional info at your local US embassy and/or consulate.

Call the US Embassy in London and speak to the visa department.

Probably very good. File the correct documentation and apply at least a year in advance.
