it's happened many times in the past few years using xp or vista. So if a windows explorer window is closed as a small little screen, the next time I click explorer to open a window, it opens at that tiny little size and I have to stretch it back to fit the screen, but when closed at it's normal size,, the next time I try again, it opens tiny again, so wondering how and where I change the opening settings to get it to open as a full windows explorer screen.

Thanks!

The windows explorer window remembers the size you last had it. so just make sure you stretch it out full our maximize it. It will always open the size you last had it. or the last window that was closed. Hope you understand what I mean.

Open Explorer, stretch it to the size you want and then close it. That should set it. If you just maximize it each time, it ignores that when it is closed and opens at the default size again.

Then maximize it utilising the maximize button, and close it even as it truly is maximized. That saves the putting. Then once you reopen it, it is going to likely be maximized back. If no longer, then there is something incorrect along with your IE installation and also you should target operating domicile windows updates.

hit F11 to make explorer full screen or goto view > full screen or add the button by going to view > explorer bar > customise
Now go to the full screen option on the left list and add it to the right list, click apply/ok.

or drag the window in its maximized or restored down state to make it bigger (to do that click and hold an edge of the window and drag it out. hit esc to undo before releasing the mouse button.

To make it always open in full screen there might be a registry key for that.
