How long is a piece of string? If you look after it, get it serviced occasionally it will last a very long time - 50 years isn't out of the question.
I sold a 1984 SLR recently and it was in excellent condition. In fact the older models are often better made and will produce better pictures, except that they don't have automatic settings and you have to work it out for yourself! The old Russian cameras are particularly good.

I have been using a Nikon F3 for over 20 years now and I will never give it up. It is as solid as the day I bought it and takes fantastic photos. I know the digital age is here, but I would never leave behind my Nikon and rely totally on a digital camera. I could use my trusty SLR as a wheel-stop if the brakes failed on my car, to club an assailant to death, or to smash my front door down if I lost my keys and it would still work.

I have a 1981 Canon AE-1 Program that I bought brand new and it's still going strong. I use it beside a Canon EOS 300D and I reckon the AE-1 will outlive it.
You will still find many SLRs of that age and a bit older going, particularly Nikons, Canons and Pentax cameras.
I also have a 1955 Rolliflex T (TLR) that works perfectly - and it's older than I am.

Last week I took my 34 year old Minolta SRT-202 out for a roll of Ilford XP2Super and the week before that my 30 year old Minolta XG-9 took a roll of Portra 160NC at my daughter's 30th. birthday party - and I used my 32 year old Vivitar flash with it. I may take my 52 year old Minolta Autocord TLR out one day this week.
Yes, the 202 and XG-9 have been serviced.

depends on how you treat it and since it has moving parts and buttons its hard to say. Always buy a service plan on these because you use it often and they are so expensive. Protect that investment.
