Yes it is happening...but keep in mind there are valid points on both sides of the spectrum. There are many true scientific proof that global warming is happening, but that doesn't mean we will all die. Yes some will die but that is the circle of life in my opinion. Coral reefs are getting bleached and numerous other detrimental things are occurring. Global warming is like a domino affect.

The people who point out that this is not the best place to get an answer are right.
There's nonsense here like:
"Volcanoes and the sea both pump out more Co2 than anything else on the planet."
Volcanoes don't:
http://www.geology.sdsu.edu/how_volcanoes_work/climate_effects.html
and CO2 from the ocean is part of the natural "carbon cycle" and doesn't cause global warming.

Here are some good places to get the real information. Note that it takes time and study to understand. There is no quick magic answer. But it's very important to you (You're not going to die, but global warming could do serious damage to the economy, making you poorer).:

There have been many undulating periods throughout the earths history of heating and cooling periods but there is more Co2 in the atmosphere then there has been in the past, more Co2 means more heat is going t be trapped in the atmosphere.
This however is not as much our fault as many people are saying, Volcanoes and the sea both pump out more Co2 than anything else on the planet. Also Cows produce more Co2 than some petrol cars.

so i heard that our planet has only three and a half years to change the way we all live, because if we are still taking advantage of recources after that, there is no going back. thats it.
but luckily you can still do stuff such as: unplugging things when you are not using them-even if they are off, put a lid on anything on the stove to help it boil/cook faster &to save energy, send a text message or email instead of writing a letter or note. you can also check out "think" at mtv.com
also, when using a search engine, use blackle.com
its run by google but its black so it doesnt use as much energy o light up the screen :]

If you want the truth why not research and see what scientists say, not a bunch of YA folks who use emotion instead of logic to give you an answer.

Just like every other doom and gloom scenario, this one just ain't going to happen either.
In 50 years global warming will just be a trivia question, just like the Y2K computer bug.

Don't be afraid, don't be stupid either though. How can expect someone on this website to know what is going to happen to the world?
